Grace, Mercy, and Peace One Accord Family! I would like to share some thoughts regarding COVID - 19 Coronavirus that authorities believe have orginated in China.
Family, as I share some thoughts, I implore you to please do your own research into this pandemic without getting consumed in it.
One Accord Facilities/cleaning team has been instructed to pay special attention to their cleaning practices, especially on horizontal surfaces, light switches, door knobs, microphones, etc as these items are high touch items in any facility.
I would also advise that we be diligent about washing our hands and using hand sanitizer. This should be a normal practice especially with this flu season that we are in the middle of.
The CDC has shared that hand sanitizer is effective against coronavirus, and is not effective against C-Diff. Please do your research regarding proper handwashing techniques. Also, face masks will not protect you against COVID-19; it is only effective for those with the virus so that their droplets from sneezing and coughing will get caught in the mask rather than spreading it otherwise.
Family, as men and women of God, we will not live in fear!
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7) Fear is a tool that the enemy uses to make us do things and walk in a manner that is not of God. When we make decisions based in fear, we always make the wrong decision.
Never the less, we want to CERTAINLY use WISDOM in all circumstances and even in the midst of this COVID-19.
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. (James 1:5)
Let us ask God for wisdom in the midst of this pandemic and not walk around with blinders on as if this is not a real issue, but at the same time, KNOW that we are covered with the blood of Jesus! This shows us that we need to witness to more people so that they can know Jesus during these last and evil days. WE HAVE WORK TO DO!
There is so much data to share regarding this virus, but I want to atleast put this into some perspective:
So far, the new coronavirus has led to more than 100,000 illnesses and more than 3,000 deaths worldwide. But that's nothing compared with the flu, also called influenza. In the U.S. alone, the flu has caused an estimated 32 million illnesses, 310,000 hospitalizations and 18,000 deaths this season, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
That said, scientists have studied seasonal flu for decades. So, despite the danger of it, we know a lot about flu viruses and what to expect each season. In contrast, very little is known about the new coronavirus and the disease it causes, dubbed COVID-19, because it's so new. This means COVID-19 is something of a wild card in terms of how far it will spread and how many deaths it will cause.
PEOPLE ARE OFTEN AFRAID OF THE UNKNOWN and my prayer is that the authorities will come to the place where this virus can be understood.
We should always wash our hands and stay home when we are sick. We should sneeze and cough into our elbow or a tissue. We should wear mask whenever we are sick when feasible. We should be careful of what we touch and use hand sanitizer generously. This virus is spread by contact with the virus, usually by hand and then hands touch mouths, eyes, nose, etc. allowing the virus an entry point.
If God decides to deliver us from this virus, let us remember to practice these safe measures long after this virus is gone. I will not discount that this is a serious matter, but God is still Sovereign and we are children of the KING OF GLORY!
